I wanted to take a minute and introduce myself properly, and to give you some pointers on how you can get the most out of my strategies and methods. First, allow me to explain a bit about who the hell I am and how I stumbled into the whole arena of being the underground marketing specialist for the Personal Growth Industry. I won’t bore you with the details, but I was fortunate enough to ‘discover’ Coaching, NLP & Personal Development back in school. I say fortunate, because I desperately needed help at the time. Outwardly I was the ‘loud’ one – the initiator, but this was just a thinly disguised veil concealing my dire lack of self-esteem. I was failing my exams (I was 16 years old) because I was working all night washing glasses in a nightclub. I was failing with girls - I couldn’t look a woman in the eye without blushing uncontrollably, let alone start a conversation. Frankly - I was failing to find much meaning to my life. Help came in the shape of a 6-tape set I borrowed from my brother (I literally turned up at the door of his flat one day and begged him to help me). I knew he read a lot of books and listened to a lot of tapes about ‘taking control’ and seeing as how I felt totally OUT of control I figured he might be able to help.
The tape-set was called Unlimited Power by someone called Anthony Robbins. I was blown away, and to cut a long story short - over the next 3 months - using what I learned - I moved to London, got myself a job in sales and started actually going out with girls and enjoying a more vibrant life - all the while I was devouring anything I could lay my hands on about NLP and Personal Growth. ...I had big dreams - but no idea how I was going to achieve them.
During that time I left direct selling to go into Direct-Response Marketing and the emerging industry of Direct Response Television. Over those 8 years I got very good at creating and selling products on television, and became the most in–demand Consultant & Producer of infomercials in the country. Imagine my surprise at the call I received during the summer of 2003...
My results with Tony were outstanding. See - I’d been called in after the first 3 shows had flopped and I had just 15 minutes to talk with Tony before the show (which was being broadcast live) to try and offer some information that might help turn around his declining sales figures...
After that, word spread fast. I was soon working personally with the MD of Nightingale Conant, the largest producer of personal development audio in the world...helping strategize their online and direct mail campaigns... ...all the while I was unwittingly building my reputation as the 'go to' guy for marketing expertise for the Personal Growth industry. I was able to constantly test and implement my ideas and strategies about what worked in this relatively new field of business. But I was still working freelance for the highest bidder. My work wasn't a serious business - and I had no clue how to turn it into one. My next breakthrough again came totally by accident. I hired a TV Personal Development "Guru" named Alistair Horscroft to do an on-screen testimonial of a mind-body-spirit product I was marketing on television. We hit it off and quickly became friends….a year or two later I attended some of his training courses to learn more about how to do NLP, Hypnosis & Coaching. After the training and some one-on-one work with Alistair - I had a profound epiphany... "It was my duty to help Coaches, Trainers, Therapists & Consultants become wildly successful business owners!" That was October 2005 and since then I’ve been refining the ideas I’ve learnt and tested over the course of my entire professional life - with NLP Business Owners, Coaches, Hypnotherapists and Personal Development experts who want to avoid a mediocre self-employed existence and move towards rapid growth, predictable business and huge profits without the worry and frustration that can come from ‘going it alone’. Most of the professionals that come to work in this industry aren’t just doing it for the money (lets face it - there are quicker and easier ways to get rich). For most of us there’s much more than that….the money is simply a yardstick. I know it may sound weird putting it like this -- simply the IDEA of becoming successful in the personal growth industry is a major draw… Not only that but the pride and pleasure of starting and running your own business based on sharing your talents with others who want or need them, is a huge buzz. If you want to make an impact – if you want to do really well in this industry but don’t know how to successfully build a business as an NLP Trainer, Coach, Hypnotist or a combination of those things - then you’re probably going to walk through life feeling a little inadequate at the least. It’s not an easy thing to explain to someone who doesn’t “get it”, but I’ll bet that you know EXACTLY what I’m talking about. On the other hand, if you DO know how to be the designer of your own business success, you’re going to experience riches and rewards that other people can only dream of.
As you already know quite well, there are a lot of people running around trying to convince you that they have all the answers when it comes to marketing your business and getting clients. Well, unfortunately for you, I don’t have ALL the answers. But I do believe that I have ALOT of the answers (and I think the answers I have are pretty important and profitable). The question you’re probably asking is “Why should I believe what James Lavers says?”. And my answer to you is that you SHOULDN’T just blindly believe me. In fact, I would recommend that you approach my materials with a healthy scepticism, and a “scientific” perspective.
Go out – get into your business - and TEST some of it! - think about it. If I hand you a fistful of banknotes and you do nothing with it, then that money is worthless…it’s only POTENTIAL VALUE…however if you use the money in the manner it’s intended then your going to experience the value INSTANTLY.
